25 April 2017 - Umicore has reached a resolution with BASF and Argonne over NMC patent infringement claims
Umicore reached a business resolution of its pending patent disputes with BASF and Argonne National Laboratory. Umicore is now licensed to make, use, sell, offer to sell, distribute and import nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) cathode material for lithium ion batteries in the United States under Argonne’s and BASF’s U.S. Patent Nos. 6,677,082; 6,680,143; 7,135,252; and 7,468,223. BASF and Argonne are dismissing their pending action in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware against Umicore. The parties are filing a petition for rescission of the existing limited exclusion order with the International Trade Commission (ITC).

25 avril 2017 - Umicore a conclu un accord avec BASF et Argonne relatif à la plainte pour violation des brevets NMC.
Umicore est arrivé à une résolution d’affaires concernant l’affaire des brevets en cours avec BASF et Argonne National Laboratory. Umicore détient maintenant une licence en vue de fabriquer, utiliser, vendre, proposer à la vente, distribuer et importer aux Etats-Unis les matériaux cathodiques nickel manganèse cobalt (NMC) destinés aux batteries lithium ion sous les brevets américains détenus par BASF et Argonne et portant les n° 6.677.082; 6.680.143; 7.135.252; et 7.468.223. BASF et Argonne ont mis un terme à la procédure en cours contre Umicore auprès de la United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Les parties concernées ont introduit une demande d’annulation de l’ordre d’exclusion limitée existant auprès de la International Trade Commission (ITC).

Umicore bereikte een zakelijke uitkomst met betrekking tot de hangende octrooigeschillen met BASF en Argonne National Laboratory. Umicore beschikt thans over de licentie om NMC-kathodemateriaal (nikkel – mangaan - kobalt) voor lithium-ion batterijen te maken, gebruiken, verkopen, aanbieden tot verkopen, verdelen en invoeren in de Verenigde Staten onder de Amerikaanse octrooien van Argonne en BASF nrs. 6.677.082; 6.680.143; 7.135.252; en 7.468.223. BASF en Argonne trekken de hangende procedure voor het Amerikaanse District Court van het Delaware District tegen Umicore in. De partijen dienen bij de International Trade Commission (ITC) een verzoekschrift in tot intrekking van de bestaande uitsluitingsverordening.
