What you will be doing

  • You are responsible for preparing technical components of catalyst and technology proposals utilizing Umicore’s proprietary kinetic modelling tools to accurately predict the performance of catalysts and technologies based on specific client conditions. Forming to foundational elements for projects.
  • You research and author technical papers and presentations, represent the company and its products at conferences and exhibitions. Network and explore additional opportunities for Umicore to present its products and brand.
  • You provide market intelligence to President and R&D for strategic planning to develop new products. Initiate and direct customer terms and conditions reviews. Liaising with President and legal department to ensure contracts reduce legal liability and meet industry best practices.
  • You strategically pursue high value market identifying the potential sales in his/her territory for budget and planning purposes.
  • You prepare and conduct client visits preparing and presenting technical presentations. Prioritizing follow up as appropriate to increase market share.
  • You develop client base and expand reference list. Provide technical advice to clients relating to selection, use and operation of catalysts and technologies.
  • You provide after sales support to clients troubleshooting and directing catalyst management and sample testing contracts and proposals. Performing on-site inspections, and supervising catalyst loading and start up.
  • You act as a liaison to the project management department, accounting department, logistics department. Providing support for client catalyst and technology projects to assist in project execution.
  • You review and revise catalyst sample test reports as appropriate. Providing technical guidance to accurately communicate laboratory results to all parties involved.

Who we are looking for

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences (preferred Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry (Organic, Physical, Environmental)
  • 5 -10 years Plant, Sales and/or large Project Management experience
  • 5 -10 years of related industry experience

Sales Skills

  • Communicating professionally and in a timely manner with customers
  • Able to develop and maintain long term customer and vendor relationships
  • Understanding of bidding process, payment plans, and delivery terms
