What you will be doing

 

Sales Activities

  • Detects product value at the customer
  • Develops an org chart for all key accounts and develops active relationships at different levels (procurement, development, R&D, Quality etc) of the organisation
  • Coordinates with the SCM manager on volume allocation conflicts
  • Manage and develop the relations with customers
  • Leading commercial negotiation on conditions such as premium, volume and agreement
  • Management of metal hedging
  • Management of payment and customer credit
  • Update the yearly and monthly forecast
  • Customer visit reports
  • Responsible for VOC and co-work with relevant teams and coordinated potential quality topics with the rest of UBM organization
  • Leading the discussion on customer qualification

 

Strategic Management

  • Plan and propose a longer term strategic business plan
  • Balancing between long term and short term business plan to define the most efficient way to deal with customers
  • Regularly step away from daily business and spend time with key people at customers to discuss bigger and longer picture

 

Market Intelligence

  • Maps competitor supply chains
  • Maps cell maker customers design-wins
  • Provides accurate estimates on Umicore price positioning
  • Collect market information related to Li-ion battery industry

 

Who we are looking for

  • University degree in Engineering/Science/Economics/Business Administration
  • Work experience > 7 years in sales/supply related works, preferably in a B2B commercial environment in automotive, metals or materials
  • Stress resistant
  • Capable of dealing with the sometimes conflicting interest between customers and Umicore
  • Experience with metal hedging
  • Self-starting personality with a can-do mentality
  • Fluent in English
  • Can work independently
  • Knows how to organize things, even in a fast changing environment
  • Takes initiative and is not easily demotivated
  • Takes ownership for the task assigned to him/her
