What you will be doing 

The Compliance and Liaison Manager supports the process of delivering a timely, solid and qualitative Consolidated BU Financial Reporting to Group Control and internal stakeholders. It will support the financial management of all legal entities within the Business Unit and ensure statutory and legal obligation are fulfilled.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Group Financial reporting
    • Oversee and optimize the Group Financial reporting – quality and timing - ensuring the adherence to all relevant Group requirements, interacting with External Auditors.
    • Act as first point of contact for all intercompany stakeholders. Maintain the relationship with Ionway, and be the first point of contact.
    • Enhances the Reporting function by participating in Umicore’s Group, regional and BU Finance’s network and by participating in Umicore’s main finance related projects
  • Compliance
    • In line with corporate guidelines, coordinates & drives the implementation optimization of internal processes and procedures and ensures follow-up and compliance. Ensure alignment with Corporate guidelines (e.g. Harmonized P&L, …)
    • Responsible for rolling out BM transfer pricing and its compliance in accordance with Umicore Group Transfer Pricing Policy (written transfer pricing agreements, transfer pricing master files, etc.), in close cooperation with TP Manager
    • Monitors and manages together with local teams and Corporate Finance the most optimized tax, legal and financing set-up of all BM legal entities.
  • Credit and Risk Management
    • Monitors and optimizes affiliates cash position, Capex funding, with close cooperation with local Finance teams and Corporate Treasury to reduce interests and bank fees
    • Leads BU Credit management together with local Finance teams and Group Credit management function, to minimize credit risk and reduce net working capital
    • Responsible for implementing and monitoring Internal Control, in compliance with MICR system, with Corporate Internal Control cooperation
  • Innovation and development
    • Support the innovation and continuous development of systems and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency of the operations. Support with the introduction  of Corporate systems (E.g. Hermes Next)

 

Who we are looking for 

  • Master degree in business economics or business administration
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field, extensive experience in financial matters in a global business environment
  • Excellent understanding of financial processes
  • Good conceptual understanding of business models and their translation into finance
  • Experience with risk management, preferably some experience with hedging (currencies and/or metals)
  • Excellent analytical, synthesizing and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in different socio-cultural environments
  • High commitment to qualitative results and timelines
  • Excellent communication skills (presentation & advisory)
