What you will be doing
•    Work management of laboratory employees participating in carrying out routine and specialized technical procedures, including laboratory work planning, evaluation of performed work and solving procedural and technical problems of the laboratory,
•    Management of change and risk assessments creation,
•    Involvement for safety with the team. Creating and fallowing a safety culture in the Umicore,
•    Budget management related to laboratory department with test calculation. Cost optimalization,
•    Ensuring accuracy of test results relating to PGM and further optimization of testing methods,
•    Ensuring timely and correct recording of test results in the necessary systems (SAP,LIMS,ACOS, SharePoint databases etc.),
•    Monitoring and reporting irregularities by analyzing test results and cooperation with related departments to solve problems and ensure continuous improvement, 
•    Development and implementation of quality control programs to ensure adequacy of testing procedures, proper functioning of laboratory equipment; development and maintenance of applicable registers,
•    Preparation of technical reports reflecting the amount of work, applied procedures and test results,
•    Designing appropriate work schedules for the staff and planning daily tasks that guarantee effective work of the laboratory. Organizing time work efficiently,
•    Monitoring quality control practices as well as security controls and inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements,
•    Keeping stocks of materials and equipment sufficient to carry out the tasks,
•    Solving advanced problems, interpretation/consultation, verification of sample quality and test results,
•     Research, development, testing and improvement of routine and other methodologies for ICP and XRF. Participation in the ICP "round robin" algorithm, maintaining the same level as in the Hanau laboratory,
•    Management and supervision of calibration and standardization of control and measurement equipment,
•    Maintaining requirements IATF 16949/ ISO 14001/ISO 45001,

 

Who we are looking for
•    Higher education in chemistry, chemical technology or other closely related physical sciences
•    At least 3 years of experience in a laboratory (chemical or measurement one), preferably in the area of elemental analysis such as ICP, XRF
•    Experience in a supervisory/managerial position would be an additional advantage
•    Excellent knowledge of laboratory equipment and instruments and related terminology 
•    Knowledge of Q&EHS norm requirements (IATF 16949/ ISO 14001/ISO 45001) 
•    Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases)
•    Fluency in Polish
•    Good knowledge of English.
