About Rechargeable Battery Materials
We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. What you will be doing
Process and product quality monitoring and incremental improvement:
- Support the Ni Roadmap China development from R&D to Operational implementation to ensure optimal Ni-sulphate availability for RBM
- Follows up CAPEX projects at the Chinese Refining JV’s which are defined/ developed/agreed between JV partners and Umicore. In the development, design and in the construction phase his main responsibility is
- Process development for the new processes (including technology transfer)
- Follow up and report the design & construction progress and status
- Active support the JV partner on ‘project quality’ issues in the broad sense (industrial standards, environmental performance, occupational health and safety, process safety)
- Is closely involved during commissioning, startup and early production phases of new plant and workshops where he analyzes and reports the progress made, identifies bottlenecks and suggests improvements and or solutions
- Ensure Technology sharing between Umicore & JV partner (both way’s) in alignment with supervisor
- Liaises between RBM Refining and JV partners on technical and process related information communication.
- Maintain good relationship and mutual trust between Umicore and our JV partners
- Ensure information sharing to EST supply, RBM accounting and RBM Refining on cost, capability, … at JV’s
- Performs & reports scouting activities on selected Chinese Co refiners, Ni refiners and Li battery recyclers, follows up Chinese patent literature on Co and Ni refining
Who we are looking for
- Master degree or higher chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering
- Technical knowledge for working with and developing technical project documents such as PFD’s and P&ID’s, quantitative flowsheets, specification sheets, process safety documents etc …
- 5 year experience in a project environment or production environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Acquaintance with ‘Western Standards’ of (project) management and execution (of capex projects..)
- Willing to work on a daily basis in (Ganzhou and) Jiangmen city.
- Fluent in Chinese and English, including technical English (read, write)
- Good translation skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS office products. Knowledge of project scheduling programs is a plus (e.g. MS Project).
- Experience with Quality and EHS management systems is a plus.
- Experience in flowsheeting and process simulation is a plus
- Working independently and without constant supervision.
