What you will be doing
Technical Function and Task:
- Build a deep understanding of the technology requirements of previous, current and future applications and follow-up on the evolution of technical roadmaps at the different accounts.
- Ensure adequate definition and internal communication of technical customer needs/requirements and assist in identifying the most adequate fit between those needs/requirements and our technology solutions portfolio.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues in Research & Technology Center (RTC) for both Research and Development projects.
- Build a deep understanding of the different R&T projects and the materials in the pipeline, UBM’s commercial products and technologies, production capabilities and limitations.
- Provide technical direction for the promotion of new products to customers with the objective to minimize the complexity in R&D and plants.
- Well-structured project management of product qualification processes from initial sampling to finalization of PPAP and ensuring that the work performed in his/her area meets the requirements of the internally and externally applicable quality systems.
Commercial and Strategic Responsibility and Task:
- Cultivate a strong relationship with the customers’ technical teams through regular formal and informal contacts.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial Managers, Quality management managers, internal relevant colleagues for aligned customer relationship management.
- Provide technical customer service. Coordination with production plants and QA for customer interface per request by customers
- Liaise with OEMs and support business development teams to strengthen the relationship with local OEMs.
- Timely/systematic collection, analysis and reporting of technical market, customer and competitor data (materials, roadmaps, performance benchmarking, …)
- Regular reporting to R&D Management on progress, status and issues regarding the qualification activities.
- Actively manage customer / market related work packages in product, process and precursor development programs or projects where assigned.
- Assume expert role in the AT team for e.g. either application testing or quality management tasks.
- Technical promotion activities of the UBM Business Line in its geographical territory, including fairs, seminars, conferences, etc
Who we are looking for
- Education:
University degree in Engineering, MSc or PhD in materials/chemistry/Applied Sciences with affinity for business (application / customer oriented)
- Work experience:
- Min 3 years experience, in a B2B technical environment.
- Preferably good understanding of or experience in the Li-ion rechargeable battery or materials technology/industry.
- Managerial skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Structured approach in project management
- Customer and service minded – Relationship builder
- Willingness to travel abroad (max. 10% of total working time)
- Language skills:
Fluent in both oral and written Korean and English is a must
- Other skills:
Capable user of PC MS office applications
