About Cobalt & Specialty Materials 

Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore’s expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore’s materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints and tires. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts. To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in. 

What you will be doing 

As our Import/Export Representative, you will be responsible for handling international shipments, which will include:

  • Arranging international bookings with brokers;
  • Tracking all transactions through various resources;
  • Initiating and coordinating international banking transactions, including direct collections and letters of credit;
  • Collecting documents from foreign suppliers and creating additional documentation as needed for U.S. Customs clearance;
  • Distributing pre-delivery notifications and material documentation to receiving facilities;
  • Gathering and submitting the Importer Security Filing data elements in a time manner prior to foreign vessel departure;
  • Ensuring the filing of Electronic Export Information by either accurately entering data into the system, or supplying the freight forwarder with accurate information and instructions;
  • Reconciling bills, correcting errors, and assisting in the resolution of billing issues; and,
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face.  As well as a minimum of an Associate's degree or 2-3 years relevant work experience, you should be extremely organized in handling documentation and electronic communications, and strongly detail oriented.  Experience working in customer service with exposure to making freight arrangements or to international shipments would be helpful.

This is a Monday-Friday day shift position at our Palm Commodities International, LLC facility.
